How Does Smart Recording Work?

How Does Smart Recording Work?

Couldn't be easier.
Each of the transport streams or OTT information that is set to be recorded is continuously recorded in a cyclic mode, using the First In First Out method (FIFO), meaning that at any given moment the platform holds the last relevant information prior to a potential event.
Once an event with the proper severity is detected and triggered, its source information is saved outside of the FIFO storage and is no longer being recorded over.
The platform then exports the saved recording to an external FTP. Once the transfer of an event has been completed, the saved event storage is released and can be used for the cyclic FIFO recording again.

The two main challenges of cloud live production implementations for work-from-home applications are getting the uncompressed sources to the cloud and delivering the Mosaic Output to the home.

The TAG platform JPEG-XS which can be used to deliver high-quality production content to the cloud where bandwidth limitations apply and can also provide the mosaic output as Zixi and/or HLS streams to be delivered to the home over the public Internet.

The TAG platform has an elaborated JSON API which can be used by custom user panels configured to control the system functionalities.

Yes! The TAG open, flexible and rich APIs allow integrations with virtually any system

Absolutely- You can view all monitored streams in the same layout.

Recent Enhancements

TAG has enriched the error source recording functionality and capacity of its multiviewer and monitoring platform as the rise in OTT continues to skyrocket. Effective immediately, users can manually set a recording of an OTT channel, record all metadata elements of additional OTT formats, and set 32 channels to be recorded simultaneously, a significant increase in capacity.
